The ASPECT Best Practice Network is organising a workshop during the BETT Show in London on 13 January 2010 to explore the benefits of learning technology standards for discovering, creating, packaging, sharing and using educational content. If you are a publisher, an educational tools' provider or learning professional creating your own resources, this workshop will provide you with an understanding of some of the key technology standards that will facilitate and improve the impact of your work. Participation is free of charge but you need to register in order to reserve a place at the workshop that will be held at the Hilton hotel next to the Olympia exhibition hall. In order to receive an invitation and view the programme, please register at http://www.learningstandards.eu/bett.
European teachers are increasingly using digital learning resources as part of their teaching activities. Digital learning resources are made available to teachers through educational portals and digital libraries in many European countries. But can teachers use learning resources that originate from a country different than themselves? Or learning resources that are in different languages than that of the teacher or learners?

eTwinning
| |
Teachers’ Lifelong Learning Networks (TeLLNet) is a new European Schoolnet-lead project. It aims to study the eTwinning network, which currently has more than 80,000 teachers, in order to understand the dynamic and multidirectional flow of social influence within such networks. It will do this through visualisation techniques, social network analysis (SNA) and a number of complimentary methods.
Produce a video with your pupils and partners and enter it in the eTwinning video competition! The best five videos will be featured on the big screen at the eTwinning conference in 2010 and receive high-quality video cameras.

The STELLA final conference took place in Nancy, France, on 18 November 2009 with more than 240 teachers participating. The conference presented interesting science education initiatives in France and other European countries, and wanted to stimulate discussion among the participants on how to make science education more attractive for young people.
The two-year project ITEMS (Improving Teacher Education in Maths and Science) is now in its midway, and the courses and workshops organised for teachers are in full swing. The first international training course “Teaching geometry online” took place during the month of November 2009 with a successful participation of teachers from across Europe.
